Ok the pictures are not in any real order just snap shots of the game at random times in game turns. Want to say very bloody quickly. Ryan takes a deathstorm pod with missles, and it litterally takes at least 3 models from each unit within 12" during it's planet fall. That thing hurt and scared me from the git go. His other pod drops to my right flank and had one termie, and grey hunter pack. My turn one losses, 175 pts of foot troops (mainly from the deathstorm). MY turn one Deathstorm down, grey hunters down,
Ryans's turn 2 sees his other pods come in one with a runepriest and Ju-Ju stick to try to stop my 6 psykers from having fun. He succeeds on 4 spells on my turn. (which will prove not enough in a sub-phase or two later see below) raider drops of HQ to charge the screamers which are already in his deployment zone. then proceeds to help the spot where the grey hunters dissappeared from.
My turn two (after small losses from shooting form ryan and after about 80+ saves from the sick screamer unit, then another 20+ saves in assault and only lossing one wound on a screamer) I proceed the slow walk of death. The portal glyph spawns more daemonettes, plague bearers charge the raider, and daemonettes charge the grey hunters drop pod, Heldrake arrives vectors strike the rune priest and his termie unit killing the stormshield guy sniffing warpdust.
Then the heldrake was intercepted and taken off the field out right! (so ryan has wiped almost 500 pts off the table to my 270) i am worried a bit until the runepriest is charged by a herald of slaanesh, whom gets to re-roll all misses for him and unit, and nominate who accepts the challenge for my opponed (this is wher the runeprist died) as he could not make 4 invul saves to stay alive. and the rest of the termies go down to invul only from the alluress and daemonettes rending
The Soul Grinder charges the vindy that got too close and places two hull points on it (note my soulgrinder hit nothing if any shooting phase) the daemonettes that charged the grey hunter pod blows it up, and the plaguebearers place 2 hull pts on the raider. ther screamers do nothing, and take nothing with once again haveing 2++ re-roll 1's
Turn 3. Ryan backs his tanks up (vindy can't shoot this turn and lost his storm bolter) so he moves 12" then flat out's away, the raider backs up and using everthing on the bearers daemonettes (hitting only by edge of template) and multi-melta shot the souldgrinder (but did not hit) 0 plaguebearers die and no wounds to daemonettes. this is the turn melee gets very bloody for screamers. I loose one base and take a wound on another, but kill 3 marines. Tie
My turn my screamers get only forewarning, so no grimoire (would give them a 5+ on a fail but warp storm gave all daemons +1 this turn) so I loose 2 bases, but the reclusiarch and corbulo go down swinging. The reclusiarch challenged my great unclean one (who killed the deathstorm pod in turn one finally getting across the board) as the great unclean one had +3 from warp speed, endurance activated, had the gloryseeker, and also was granted 4+ fnp from the greater Gift, (note warlord trait was weapons caused instant death), so the reclusiarch failed one of 7 wounds and splat. Giving me slay the warlord, but in a very blood angel herioc way. Sanguinius would be proud of his selfless challenge!!! that was the turning point as the marines then just take down my screamers to 4 bases from shooting and then wiping them out in turn 5. my unit cost 375 pts. total havic cost to enemy = priceless. their ability to tie up the HQ that was a ton more points until the Unclean one could come into combat was very priceless.
At the end of Turn 5 (game ended) which left ryan with a Quad gun, 4 scouts (the only one to die was due to the turbo boost on turn one from screamers) and 2 tactial marines who had retreated from the screamers battle after loosing turn so horribly. I had 3 hull points left on my soulgrinder (in his deployment, 3 units holding primary objectives (crusade game with 4 objectives total), the unclean one untouched, a icarius Lascannon with 1 wound left, CSm sorcerer (which won the 1st ever CAE painting contest (Ctrl-Alt-Elite)!!! with 1 wound on him, and his cultists who still had 7 out of the ten original.
