Game 3 Daemons vs. Space Wolves

Game 3 Mission: The Scouring. This mission was a very great battle. John D. was a fantastic player to play this against. John brought a land raider, urik the slayer, arjac and wolf guard, drop pod, 2 grey hunters with rune priests, and Logan (i think was the special character with 2 fen wolves). Long Fangs with defence line and quad gun. The DLT deployment only allowed 3 units per side to be deployed and forced the rest of the armies into reserves.
My Force was the Great Unclean One, 2 heralds of slaanesh, 1 herald of Nurgle, 1 Herald of Tzeentch. 2x9 daemonettes with alluress, 1x9 screamer unit, 1x9 plaguebearers w/ plagueridden, soul grinder, CSM Sorcerer of tzeentch, cultists, and helldrake. With Aegis line and comm station, and bastion with lascannon. (love cheap units)


Turn one went to Daemons first, which was the Screamers turbo-boosting over the long fangs and dealing 4 wounds, the wolfguard went down with 3 fangs leaving the sergeant and one long fang with a missile launcher. The herald of Nurgle drops the portal glyph and moves to the 4pt. objective. soul grinder misses. John moves arjac up the field and logan flanking the center terrain (LOS blocking) and the long fangs shoot into the screamers (1 wound from quad gun) and the drop pod with hunters and a rune priest attempt to unload on the screamers as well. Jaws of the world wolf only removes one screamer base.

Turn 2 All reserves but cultists and one daemonette unit comes into play (love comm stations), screamers turbo boost over the rune priest unit this time removeing 3 bases. Unclean one with warp beacon drops, begins to auto-buff himself with biomancy warp speed iron arm. and daemonette unit drops within 6" so no deviation. Plague bearers move to 4 pt objective. and Portal Glyph spawns pink horrors who move into the bastion and man the heavy bolters (5 horrors spawned), the heavy bolter fire and the ensueing psychic attack take down the wolves, and place one wound on logan. The soul grinder opens fire on arjac's unit removing one model, unclean one uses smite and removes another one.  John's turn 2 see's the raider move on with Urik and the other grey hunter pack outflank and enter near the drop pod unit (next to screamers), rune priest unit and new grey hunter pack unload on the daemonettes and reduce them to the herald and the Alluress with one daemonette. The missle long fang and wuad gun open up on The Great Unclean One, to no avail as with iron arm he was T9. Arjac and unit move up and try to shoot at the unclean one also with nothing. (FoeHammer missed) and they fail assault.

Turn 3: Very hectic. Rest of my reserves come into play. Screamers (mind you this whole game they are forewarned (4+ inv) and grimoired (+2 inv) with re-rollable ones) assault the new unit of grey hunters (which kills all but the priest and the powerfist) the hunters do nothing in return. the unclean one and daemonettes charge Arjac, Unclean one fails charge distance. the other herald and alluress charge the drop pod unit, the herald with Loci of Beguilement calls out the priest, and slaughters him. the alluress and gang kill 7 from the unit. the return attacks take away the alluress and the single daemonette. Both units stay locked. the daemonettes and herald which charged Arjac call out arjac and gets killed (3+ invul saved him) but the ensueing daemonettes reduce the unit down to 1 wolf guard in termie armour, and 2 in power armour. strikes back remove 3 Daemonettes. Combat is locked. Soul grinder fails at everything thing he shoots at (useless most of game). the pink horrors shoot down the logan model, and dance and sing with nothing else to do. THe CSM Sorcerer fires the lascannon at the raider and it laughs. John side of the turn sees all his models but the fangs, and raider in combat, movement was raider running 12" up to get to the 4pt obj. his assault phase the grey hunters collapse (both units) and the screamers and daemonettes setup for turn 4 movements. arjac reduces the other unit down to the alluress, and 3 daemonettes, while loosing both wolfguard in power armour.

Turn 4: Unclean one charges and joins the Arjac battle, single Slaanesh Herald charges long fangs (wipe long fangs) screamers advance to gain ground on the raider with his warlord (whom is a scoring unit). zero shooting (everything wiped or in combat) except the CSM lascannon failure at the raider. Melee, Arjac challenges the Great unclean on. whom realizes needing a 4 to wound with a str 10 weapon sucks, and the unclean one makes John pick Arjac up and join his fallen brethren. The Daemonettes remove the last two wolf guard and frees them up to move (error in my part as I leave an objective which proves I was blinded by blood lust in attempting to table him) Plague bearers move up and charge the raider glancing it twice due to touch of rust (leaving the 4pt objective open.)
John shoots and shoots. killing 2 plague bearers. the quad gun auto-fires at the lone herald and kills her outright.

Turn 5: Stupid moves on Daemon General (my part) run my cultists out to secure the 4pt. objective, plague bearers are on a 3 pt objective. all other ones are open!!!. nothing can get into combat lascannon fails AGAIN!!!. John's turn 5 urik jumps out the raider opens up on cultists and wipes them!!!! game ends with him on the 4pt with warlord that can score!!!

Final:
Primary (objectives in The Scouring) John 4pt to my 3 pts!!!
Secondary (a DLT objective) gain ground = Table quarters. I take 2 to his 0 qtrs.
Tertiary was first Blood which went to the fall of the grey hunters on turn 3!!! (longest first blood i have taken)

Final Score: Daemons 11 (secondary is 7pts, Tertiary is 4 pts) to Space wolves 10 (primary is 10 pts)

Very fun and close game as John's roll of a 2 ended the game at the end of Five. Hates off to John for being such a GREAT opponent. As always he has little tricks up his sleeve and makes small tweeks to his list to keep you guessing. Until Game 9 John Good Luck!!!!
